  • Brittany was named for the French province of Brittany and may be the result of crossing the Orange and White Setter along with some not clearly identified French dog, since the Brittany looks a lot like the Welsh Springer Spaniel some think the two may be related

  • weight: males 35 – 40 pounds (16 – 18 kg)  / females 30 – 40 pounds (14 – 18 kg) 
  • prone to hip dysplasia, seizures and breast cancer
  • is not recommended for apartment life, is resistant to cold and damp conditions
  • life expectancy: about 12-15 years
